Neptune Cabinet Systems is owned and operated by three New Zealanders, all of whom have a substantial background in kitchen building and marketing. Each of us had long been concerned about the inherent weaknesses and lack of waterproofing in conventional kitchen and 'wet area' cabinetry, but it was only when we joined forces that we seriously tackled the issue and began developing the unique Neptune Cabinet System.

Many years of investing in prototype development, design registration and market research took place. It was clear that customers recognized the need for improved products, but there was resistance to paying a hefty premium for 'behind the scenes' quality.

The Housing New Zealand Corporation was seen to be a great testing ground for our product, so after gaining support from HNZC project managers, the system was trialled. The superiority of the Neptune Cabinets was quickly proven and it is now widely used in Housing Corporation refurbishment programmes and new developments.

The next step was to market the system directly to joiners, licensing them as Neptune Cabinet Systems manufacturers so they could participate in more of a partnership role rather than simply as customers. The key market of Auckland now has 3 registered manufacturers and the lower North Island is served by a centrally located company in that area. These four registered Neptune Cabinet System manufacturers are capable of supplying to local design outlets and directly to buyers throughout New Zealand.
